Home

Home is where the heart is – or where I welcome you to Chicago Boomer Law – a specialty law site designed to offer legal services to the baby boomer generation, of which I am proudly a member.

As we reach retirement age, the world is a different place than it was when our parents reached retirement.  Some of us may continue to work, having felt the effects of the recession.  Some of us may actually retire, but may have to adopt a different lifestyle in order to make the most of pensions and social security benefits.  Some may retire from their primary jobs and start new careers.

Whatever path is taken, all of us need to plan for the future.

Some boomers are actually caring for their parents, parents who may have neglected to plan, and now are lacking competence and need guardianships.

Some of the baby boomer generation  are acting as caregivers to their aged parents, and need assistance navigating Medicaid and nursing home regulations.

As baby boomers, we need to engage in estate planning to ensure that our spouses, children and grandchildren, or chosen charities, benefit from our hard work, and in order to avoid the expenses and complexities of dying intestate.

We need to appoint agents to conduct our affairs for us in the event we are no longer able to, in order to avoid the need for  a guardianship.

We need to prepare advance directives in order to receive the end-of-life medical treatment that we desire.

Some of us need to engage in Medicaid planning, to ensure eligibility for nursing home care.

For an understanding, intelligent approach to the planning and services that may be appropriate to your future, as an aging baby boomer, please consider Chicago Boomer Law as your resource.
